Crap, I mixed them already. ~.~; I was wondering why I lost so much quality. MEH!

Well, at least the video is super smooth! I’ll render both settings at 1920×1080… Tomorrow evening, I should be done. I’ll link you the result or post more if I have more questions.

By the way, I’ve never met somebody who knew EXACTLY what they were talking about before about Vegas. I’m so lucky to have your help, sir. ^^

Whups, I meant project is 1280×1080, and the rendering is 1920×1080, right?

Another thing… You said that if I really want 1080p [I want the BEST picture possible] for YouTube, I should set ‘both’ to 1080… that means properties should be 1920×1080, and the rendering should be 1280×1080? :D?

    Hello, JR!

Yeah, the problem is I did too much reading from the internet instead of asking someone who actually knew what they were talking about… thus my strange settings. Haha. I have no idea what to set them to, obviously.

FRAPS records at 30 FPS and I think at 1440×900 resolution. By the way, how can I change the output format of FRAPS? It would be simple to convert if FRAPS didn’t fragment every 2:30 to a separate file.

Another thing… to get rid of the ‘ghosting’ effect, I also checked the box for “Disable Sampling” under the Properties box for each clip, and I’m not sure if that has anything to do with it either. I just know it got rid of the ghosting!

I’m going to render with your suggested settings now, and tell you how that goes! It’ll take roughly 2 hours if it takes just as long to render as before.

Thank you SO much for giving me the time of day, sir. ^^; I appreciate it a ton!

    Away I go!

John Rofrano, I’ve posted a thread with an issue that hasn’t had even single response to in over 24 hours… Perhaps you can help me?

Hm, I don’t know. :/ Are you using Preview (Auto)? Try that. That should help you smooth it out. Do not worry about Best or Good. I’ve found that the only use for them is if you have the video paused, as it sharpens the still image close to how it’ll render… Regardless, the preview window never seems to show the actual quality, no matter what you do. It always turns out better, for me.

But again… I’ve done.. like 1 main project, and a few tests… so I really don’t know a lot. I’ve not had it long.

    Hiya.

If you’re having preview lag, just go to
Options ->> Preferences ->> Video tab ->> Dyamic RAM Preview [First listed] and adjust this to ither 256 or 512. Experiment to see which is best for your PC! Note: Going higher than recommended is fine, but bear in mind the memory you allocate to the preview takes away from the total allowance Sony Vegas has for all other processes, as well… and going too high will lag everything, AND the preview on top of that.

I’m sorry if this isn’t helpful, but I’m super new to Sony Vegas myself… I’m only responding since nobody else has, and I know the frustration of waiting around. >.<

Hi, this actually didn’t work. For future reference, I found that adjusting the box under the Track Motion section allowed me to increase the size of the generated media so it fit on the screen.
