Not capturing it in 4:4:4, just going straight Prores 422. If the material is for some reason 444 the SR will convert it to 422 if need be. That’s why i’m thinking this shouldn’t be a big deal but you never know.

Thanks for all the input guys. I’m just starting to really break into this and learn as I go so i’m trying to get input from alot of different experienced people in the field. What’s the difference between a software and hardware RAID?

Gotcha, the wonders of P2. Still curious as to why it plays back jittery in the L & T preview window even after unchecking the box but transfers into the Project Bin just fine.

Yea unchecking that box seemed to do it, any reason why this happens?

No I don’t, however when I uncheck remove advanced pulldown I get no issues transferring in. When it’s check and I try and transfer it gives me the red exclamation mark.

Can you even capture SD footage off a 1400 through firewire? I tried a 25 tape in an AJSD93 and everything went fine. Had the capture preset set to DV NTSC. When I hooked in a 1400 and played back the same tape with the same presets, I got nothing. Deck setting i’m missing here? Got control and timecode.

Great, that’s what I needed to know. How does AJA usually work with driver updates? I know Snow Leopard is due out in Sept., do they usually release updates with new OS?

Ok, so we’ve got an quote on an initial system from a reseller. They’ve incorporated a Kona 3 card into the system. My question is have their been any conflicts with Kona and Macs newest OS and if so have they been resolved with updates? Also is there a big advantage to having a Kona 3 vs. a Kona LHi?

I was leaning towards them, I saw they have a Gold Certification Awards from Apple which was a good sign right off the bat and not to mention they seem to offer the course the cheapest of anyone in the area. What kind of basic Mac OS knowledge do you need going in? Ive used them but am mostly a PC user.
