Did a search and saw this post. Currently encountering the same error, 1856 on a Win 7 64bit machine. Used the admin workaround, but it’s just a workaround, not really a fix. Happens on both QT 7.7.2 and 7.7.1.
Just wondering if there’s been an established fix worked out for this or if the “run as admin” trick is still the only way. Install and reinstall doesn’t help, can’t recreate on other Windows 7 machines.
Thanks!

April 13, 2011 at 7:35 pm in reply to: Quite nice article summing up whats new in FCP X – looks good to meI’m a bit confused as to how it’s able to “mix and match” footage on the timeline. It seems misleading, so there’s no transcoding whatsoever in FCPX? Does this change anything with the ProRes codec?
-
I didn’t change anything on the server end. The client already had that set up, I just hooked in a MacPro into one of their extra edit suites. She told me the server was running 5.1.4 though, don’t know if that helps or not.
-
Yea it was 5.2. I downloaded 5.1 first then realized my mistake and had to DL 5.2 since we’re on Snow Leopard. After updating the firmware and drivers on the ATTO board the Mac was able to find the footage on the server.
Thanks for all your help! -
Ok im there now, what exactly am I looking for. Im assuming Fibre Manager is just part of a larger program. Theres Unity ISIS, Medianetwork and LANShare, Workgroup Productivity Tools.

Makes sense. Thanks

The strangeness continues. I Quit Final Cut, unplugged the AJA Device, reopened the project and played the clips. Now I hear audio, a sigh of relief to hear something. I have a feeling playing back the clips with the Deck and IO still active was muting the audio in my actual Bin and Timeline. Wierd.
-
Just updated FCP, seems to work now. Captured a clip but now when I play it back in Final Cut, I see audio levels but hear nothing. The mute controls are off in the timeline.

Ok so i’ve set this up and it’s doing some wierd stuff. I have an SR tape playing in an SRW5500 going into the IO HD, the tape is 1080 59.94i. Ive set the IO HD to 1080i 29.97 and picked ProRes422 IO HD 1080 29.97. When I go to capture I get deck control but the timecode is jumping, the footage is playing slow and the stop and play button in the L & C window are blinking alternately. Anything i’m missing here?
