Hey guys, couple of server questions. This isnt really my field so I was a little confused by a few things.

Is Fiber Manager something that’s included on Media Composer or something that’s part of Avid Unity software only. We’re basically hooking a third party Mac into their existing Unity setup but it seems we need Fiber Manager and i’m not sure where to get it.
It also has Apples 4G Dual Fiber PCIe card in it but they have an LC connection. Can I use any transceiver to adapt it like an Atto or is there a specific Apple one.

    Any info would be helpful.

You’ll most likely want medianetwork. 5.1 for leopard, 5.2 for snow leopard i think. Although i cant get the snow leopard one to work yet

Yea it was 5.2. I downloaded 5.1 first then realized my mistake and had to DL 5.2 since we’re on Snow Leopard. After updating the firmware and drivers on the ATTO board the Mac was able to find the footage on the server.
    Thanks for all your help!

No worries. I however can’t get my mac to connect now.

Did you have to change anything at the server end of things?

I didn’t change anything on the server end. The client already had that set up, I just hooked in a MacPro into one of their extra edit suites. She told me the server was running 5.1.4 though, don’t know if that helps or not.

Does anyone still have a Media Network 5.1 for Mac they can share with me?

    Hey there.

Is there anyone having Avid Unity Media Network 5.3.3 and can share it to me ? I tried to find it for the last week and is nowhere online.

I am looking for this version, because I need Ethernet Client instead of fiber client.

I think I have the Medianet 5.X OSX Client installer somewhere , let me know if you still need it, I will go search for it. The reason Avid closed the download is about some license issue in the Java module on old software release.
