My problems have actually escalated, I now get the “code: -7” error and my audio suite no longer works. It’s quite the story with a laundry list of errors and attempts to fix that I’m am now considering reinstalling the os…

I’m gonna start a new thread.

I am well aware of the qualified components, but for this system its what I’m stuck with and it has worked fantastic for over a year.

    Any ideas? Anyone?

In a way, thats exactly what I wanted to hear. I’ve been meaning to learn and acquire some 3D software for some time now… I think now is the time.

I’ll hit up this site and Lynda for some tutorials.

    Thanks a lot!

Thanks a lot! I didn’t come across those posts in my searches.

This effect is turning out to me more complex then I anticipated.

August 18, 2009 at 1:55 am in reply to: HDV Scene Extraction?

As of Avid Media Composer v3.5.4 scene extraction AFTER capture cannot be done with HDV footage.

Its a shame, but its the truth.

If this workflow isn’t supported, is there any other solution (besides Automatic Duck) to send my HD Avid sequence into After Effects?

See thats the problem. I tried transcoding the media to several different formats, including the ones listed. I also tried both rasters. (1440×1080 and 1920×1080)

    I tried…
    DNxHD
    XDCAM HD
    DVCPro HD
    Avid 1:1

All received the same error message when I tried importing the AAF.

I have the latest update to After Effects installed. (9.0.1.51)

No problem. Try adding a Reverse Telecine filter to the clips as well then import them into a 59.94 project.
