k, sorry, I am using a Quad Core Mac Pro to import the raw footage from the FS-4 Pro HD into Final Cut 7. I am running Snow Leopard with 6 gb of ram. I drag the footage straight into the timeline and then export back out using Quick time movie to the same HDV 720 P 30. The venue plays the file straight from Final Cut using a brand new iMac that goes through a Kramer scaler to a Sanyo HD projector.The JVC only shoots 720p. I have a Sony deck, not sure which model I have. The model is the hvr-15MU which is the HDV cam. We previously shot SD and then dumped to tape here for our venues.

I have a Sony deck, not sure which model I have. I am going to shoot footage today with the Sony EX-3 to see if I can achieve better results. For our broadcast we shoot with a Panasonic HPX 300 straight into the Mac Pro through a Blackmagic Deckling Extreme at 1080i which obviously is a better quality picture. I can’t use this for video venue becuase the video venue uses a lock down shot which is from floor to1 ft above the pastors head. Maybe this will provide more insight. The venue complains because they can take a commercial DVD and see a better quality picture.

Ok, so if I capture in Hd, it only gives me Prores 422 720p24. If I choose Prores 422 as the format, it gives me all HQ settings.

Yes, I am capturing through a Panasonic switcher for a TV broadcast.

I take that back it is 1080i60. Forgot this came from a HPX 300 straight through my Blackmagic card straight into Final Cut with settings at 1080i 59.94 setting.

I was told to use H.264 with I think the 600 bits per second setting.It is a Mac Pro Quad Core 2.26. I shot it on a JVC Gy-110 HD as 720P 30. yes, fully rendered.

Let me clarify. I had Final Cut pre installed on this Mac Pro and when I did a OS change to 10.6.3, it made me have a serial # which I did not have. I bought the upgrade and installed it. This just happened.

I am using a firewire drive. It was an upgrade and I am using 10.6.3

I did the down convert to SD using the Apple Pro Res HQ setting and perfect option. It looks great for my 1 option.. Now I wish I had a Hd/SDI option on my Panasonic AJ-D250 so I could go straight from my Decklink Card to the Panasonic without having to go composite to the Panasonic. I am wondering what the difference between the HD/SDI and the composite would be.

let me explain further. I am capturing both this and a Sony EX-3 through a broadcast switcher and then going HD-SDI out to the Decklink card on the Mac Pro. I am not capturing to the P2 card.
