  • Graham,

    Thanks for the reply.

When I use the ‘save as’ command and save just the trimmed clips, rather than the full original source clips, it is converting the pixel aspect ratio of the clips to .9091. In the original project they are 1.2121. Everything else between the two projects is the same: Project Properties, preview window settings, etc.

When I ‘Save as’ with the full original source media, they stay at 1.2121 and DON’T convert to .9091

Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way to change it that does not involve my having to change it back to 1.2121 in each individual clip in the new project? I would, but I have several hundred.

    Is this a bug?

It’s your system. Not that your system is BAD. It’s just that your system operates on a crippled platform – Windows!

Windows would be great if it NEVER were connected to the internet.

Mine isn’t. It runs awesome! My old, ‘malware ridden’ laptop? Not so much.

Start with a fresh install…and NEVER plug in that ethernet cord.

    Not practical?

Personally, I think ‘practical’ is what WORKS and not what sits there repeatedly needing fixed.

Is the video you shot of the game you played IN widescreen? Was it taken from a widescreen TV? Or was it taken from a 4:3 (i.e.) regular square TV with black bars at the bottom and the top?

How familiar are you with adjusting your project settings? Can you look and tell me what the video output is set to? Is it 720×480, 720×480 widescreen, etc?

It makes great sense! Thanks a bunch!

You, by chance, haven’t seen Jeffery Fisher’s VASST Noise Reduction in Vegas DVD have you?

What will you be viewing this on?

Do you want black bars at the bottom and top, rather than on the sides?

Or will you be viewing it on a widescreen TV or something with a widescreen format?

    Thanks, Ed.

I wish they would make it so. I switch back and forth A LOT!

Okay, I have messed with this every which way but Sunday and still can’t figure out how to do it. Surely there is a way.

    Thanks,

    John,

    That’s really great advice.

I appreciate you input and will try to take a peek at your movie.

    Thanks,

That’s a good idea, Mike. I’d thought of doing that myself.

Currenly, I’m using acronis backup software, which I do not like, and have been incrementally backing up my vegas project folder every hour…but it only works about a third of the time. Saving under different file names would be much easier and probably work more consistenly. Acronis is garbage, unless all you want to do is just do a single backup of your PC IMO.

Auto-ripple has gotten me into trouble several times.

I’ve kind of gotten into the habit now of grouping and locking areas of my project that I am not working on. I can’t tell you the number of times that things would move off-screen that I would not notice until after I saved the project a couple of times.

    Thanks,

    Brad
