The files that I captured in FCP actually play back okay in Quicktime Pro. Also, I tried capturing via the same hardware pipeline, also to 1080p 59.94, but this time in Blackmagic’s Media Express capture app. That captures files that playback okay when imported into FCP…. Anyone know what’s going on? Seems like there is an incompatability between metadata created by Final Cut when using Blackmagic hardware/drivers.

Thank you, I think you solved it. It exported okay after trashing prefs, so I guess the old prefs I was using defaulted to not export self-contained.

I just opened up Premiere Pro on my Mac, and I was able to import ProRes footage fine, but didn’t see where I can set the sequence settings to ProRes. I’ll be editing this project on a PC … will I be able to install ProRes or DNxHD for use in Premiere Pro, and if so, can I use one of those as my sequence setting? Also, anyone know if I can natively edit in FPS1?

Thanks, Shane (and Walter).

Interesting. I really liked 3-CCD cams like the PD-150, XL1S, DVX100 and of course HVX200. I’m not sure what benefit a 3-MOS cam with 3 small sensors would provide for keying over a single large CMOS, if both are 4:2:0….
I don’t have access to a GH2 right now, but my last one I hacked to 172mbps Intra Quant. I wonder how well that performs for keying compared to an HVX.

Yeah, I love the 422 of HVX/HPX, but they intend to regularly produce short interview clips w/ green screen and also weekly longer video webcasts, so they’re likely not going to want to budget a $300 per day rental. I’m just trying to find what is an acceptable camera for being able to purchase cheap which will be able to produce an easy key (they generally like to have a one or two day turnaround).
Someone in another forum had suggested a Panny TM900K since it’s a 3 CCD, those run around $700. Anyone have any experience with trying to key from one of those?
-
Thanks, but they already have a screen, this is just regarding the camera for screen shooting – the camera has to be $300.

From the first Magma link: “Three PCIe 2.0 expansion slots (Two x8 and One x4)”.
Exactly how can you run two x8 and one x4 PCIe cards which all share a single TB port operating at the speed of a single 4x?
-
Does each TB port have independent bus speed equivalent to 4x PCIe, or are both ports sharing one 4x PCIe equivalent speed TB bus?

Hey, I haven’t been following the Avid forums since my last post, but recently my interest in Avid’s future and commitment toward being the “new Avid” over the “old Avid” to compete with Adobe’s commitment in the fight for FCS users, has become very relevant.
I would really like to get an update from the members who have previously posted in this thread.
Thanks.
