What capture card?
How do you have the DECK CONTROL connected?
TC can come in via RS422.

What kind of MIC are you using?
Does the mic require an internal battery for power?Regardless, you can simply use your camcorder (mic plugged into the camera) connected via FireWire and record “live” through the camcorder,
or
RECORD the voice-tracks onto TAPE in the camcorder, then capture the tracks to FCP.
The latter method gives you a recorded tape with timecode to put on the shelf for future capture, if needed.

I cannot find any images of the camera showing an SVideo port of any kind.
The B&H site lists the following:

If you intend to use this camera for your archiving, I stand on my first post of converting the Hi8 analog to FireWire DV inside the Digital8 camncorder.

A really good solution to this is to buy a Digital8 format camcorder.
These are/were very common and relative inexpensive.
Buy one that will PLAY Hi8 analog and send it out the FireWire jack.
The camera will do the A-to-D internally.
If you have a lot of Hi8, this should help you.

More precisely, once a track is recorded, its easy to make truly good audio sound bad, but its nearly impossible to make truly bad audio sound good.

No need for Soundtrack (unless you just WANT to use it.)
Just CUT the “record zip” IN on your audio track at the same time that you CUT OFF the music track.
You can change the octave of the “zip” if you want, but I don’t think that will be necessary.
Adjust the volume level of the effect to give maximum effect.
