HI can anybody suggest me a gud usb microphone to record vo’s in small parts …i tried mobile pre usb from m audio but its not giving me the quality i expected… i m using imac 2.4 ghz dualcore intel. I tried to do the recording from the VO utility from final cut pro(version 5.1.4)the waveform is very small and its giving me glitches….do i need to record on some other software…..or is there any better usb combination…..i need to do a lot of vo’s in small parts and its not convenient to hire a recording studio or artist most of the times….

The Mobile Pre USB should work fine.
What kind of MIC are you using?
Does the mic require an internal battery for power?

Regardless, you can simply use your camcorder (mic plugged into the camera) connected via FireWire and record “live” through the camcorder,

    or

RECORD the voice-tracks onto TAPE in the camcorder, then capture the tracks to FCP.

The latter method gives you a recorded tape with timecode to put on the shelf for future capture, if needed.

Blue Snowball. Approx. $99 though I would also suggest a pop filter.

You don’t need any software. Just plug the mic to the USB conexion of your Mac and open the QT player. Set the Recording preferences and In the menu File select New Audio Recorder.
