But are you (even unintentionally) positioning the test with the Motion tab?
(I’ll bet you ARE, its difficult to get the characters to the lower 1/3rd without doing so.)

VERY IMPORTANT:

If you re-position graphics or any video image in FCP, make SURE the VERTICAL setting for each KEY-FRAME (start, stop or hold) is always a EVEN INTEGER (Even Whole Number). Examples: 4, not 3 / -144, not -143.27 / 336, not 335.62 / 12 not 11.

The positioning settings/info (as well as many other settings) are found under the “Motion” tab in the Viewer.
Vertical position is the number in the RIGHT window in the area called “Center” (the horizontal position is displayed in the LEFT window).

I sometimes forget to check this and I can end up with images that look fuzzy when moved into position.

This info applies to re-positioning anything on the Timeline: moving video, freeze-frames, internally-generated titles, and imported graphics.

It can be quite detrimental to the quality of your final output to not double-check this every time you reposition and/or re-size an image.

You need to “isolate” the problem:

Try removing a SINGLE effect (I mean only ONE-effect-at-a-time) and re-render (after EACH effect is removed) and view the results of removing that one effect.

Keep going until the shaking is eliminated.

Then post back with WHICH effect caused the problem and we might get a better handle on this.

You’d simply export the entire continuous audio track to an AIFF.

File (menu) > Export > Audio to AIFF(s)

But FCP cannot perform any “tricks” in regard to burning a CD with “chapters” or “cuts (as far as I know, FCP chapter markers only work for DVD burning).

You’ll need to import the exported audio file into audio software that is capable of CD authoring and burning.
In that software you can choose where to put the “cut” markers (so the disc will not STOP, but keep playing thru the markers).

A POSSIBLE (easy-to-try-it) alternative is to “slice” the audio track (I’d do this on a COPY of the timeline!) and export each “slice” as a separate AIFF file.
Be sure to name each one, even if its just a number, so you can tell what ORDER they should play in.

Then start “iTunes” and open a new blank iTunes window.

Drop your individual “slices” of the audio IN ORDER into the iTunes window (you can re-arrange the order of the cuts even after you drop them in).

Then choose:
iTunes (menu) > Preferences… > Burning > Disc Format: Audio CD > Gap Between Songs: “none”

Then, Burn a CD and see what happens.

This MIGHT work well (or work “well enough”) so that you get a (nearly?) continuous audio playback but you will still have “cuts” to jump to.

Once you’ve made all of your cuts, you can CHANGE all of the transitions into whatever you’d like with just a few commands.

This is a standard feature in FCP called “Overwrite with Transition”.

To add Multiple Transitions (Dissolves, in this case.)

Set your default transition and length.
(You can change the default by control clicking on it in the fx tab.)

Range Select (“Select All” of) your clips on the timeline.
Drag this selection into the canvas

Does it shake after the effect is rendered and playing on an external video monitor?

If the effect simply shakes when the timeline is STOPPED, that’s normal.
It is because of the difference in position between the two FIELDS that make up the full FRAME of video. When stopped, these two fields will appear to oscillate (shake.)

I see that you DO have an ioLA for capture…
It should have its own set-up controls available in a pull-down menu.

I don’t know exactly WHERE to look, but if you installed the io software drivers correctly, FCP should have a menu choice to enable using the io for capture.

If you’re capturing DV via FireWire, you CAN’T make any adjustments during capture.

DV over FireWire is basically a “file transfer” from tape to computer Hard Drive (kind of like using a tape back-up system) where no changes are made to the files at this stage.

All adjustments must be made after capture, during the edit process.

If you obtain a capture card, then certain adjustments will become available (not grayed-out) based on the card’s capabilities.
