NTSC Video standard is 72 DPI.
HOWEVER DPI is NOT what matters:
It is the actual DIMENSIONS

And since NTSC can’t reproduce the resolution of a computer,
its easily possible to create graphics that a too complex to read-well on video.Gaussian Blur is the blur to use to reduce “image buzz”.
Set it to a low number (between .25 to 2.5 is a good start). -
You should probably avoid the “native” titlers in FCP.
Instead use “Title 3D” or “Title Crawl” (from Boris) that are included with FCP.
They should be choices in your “Generators” menu.

Yep. That’s why I never do this.
“Repeatable” TC is a valuable asset.

Randy’s suggestions are good.
But, generally, there’s no need to go to that much trouble.
Just connect a FW between any two camcorders or decks and dub the entire tape to a new one.
Then only capture from the new dub.
The TC won’t match the first tape exactly, but since you’re not ever going to capture from it, it won’t matter.
There will be no generation loss on the FW dub.

This is kind of like asking for the timing settings on a ’62 Buick.
You must set the levels to the individual situation.
Set one channel on the camera to the “normal” level (peaks to around -12) and the other channel set 3dB to 6dB lower.
That way if one channel peaks and distorts, the other should be cleaner.No need to add wind filter (unless there IS a wind or low-freq. problem at the shoot).
The level settings on the mic fully depend on the talent’s voice, mic-placement, etc.

That was proven to be a “crock o’ stuff” years ago.
The best way to “try” this (as you said) is with a high-speed-refresh monitor.
But the “lag” on the screen will cause the image to be retained longer than its “true” exposure time (as will as the viewer’s persistence-of-vision.)
