There is another downside, the shutter time will be shorter, resulting in less motion blur.
Shooting double frame rate, and in P gives you the option to output interlaced for the normal shots, and better slomo, while having no problems with the motion blur.Bouke

Depends on the source codec. If your machine can handle it, no transcode is needed.

AME has tons of options, but in reality, what do you need? You need to go to Youtube or alike, to broadcast (Mxf Op1a) and perhaps DPX or DCP.
Avid has quite some options, and the missing links can be done for a few bucks or with open source. (Or a combination, as i make commercial FFmpeg front ends.)

Not sure if Premiere can do it.
A lot of video / audio formats have the metadata baked it, sidecar is only for files that do not support this.Perhaps Prelude can do it?
Otherwise, send me a testclip and I’ll see what I can do.

You know you can go up to 32 bits float, do you?
Make sure your sound is 192 Khz at least, or it will be horrible and unaudible.

This makes no sense at all.
There is no ‘official’ telecine for 24/25
Avid once had a telecine process where a field was added every 12 / 13 frames, but that is almost never used.Adding a whole frame is something stupid that QT alone did. (QT can remove it as well.)
Normally the 24p is speeded up to 25, so it’s still sorta kinda ‘native’. (Only it’s shorter than the original.)

I find this highly amusing.
How can you shoot with too less light with a cam like this?
Light a candle in the middle of the church and you have enough light…Now, forget about H265. It has no purpose at all in post production nor delivery. (Yet, this WILL change in a few years.)
You render to a decent simple codec like DNxHD / HR, Prores or alike.
If you have to deliver to Youtube, it will be re-compressed, so you upload as large as you can.
If there is a limit to your upload size or speed, H264 in beserk high settings will be small enough.Bouke

What is shady?
Before BM took over Resolve, this was a very important company.But if you only need to transcode, why not use something like FFmpeg?
