If you have dedicated AV out for Avid, that output will never play out system sounds.
(Good thing, if you are into presentation modus, or playing back live, or dump to tape, you don’t want your private home videos / whatever smug you have open in a browser leak into the sound output.)

(Personally, I close to NEVER want my system to make sound / display ‘important stuff’ like ‘update to something you don’t want / you have not backed up in 10 years / you have 248 new mails / startup drive is nearly full.
I KNOW this stuff, don’t nag me.)

So, add hardware and add a mixer if you like, then you can choose.

Belle Nuit is Matthias’ company name.
(So it sounds like talking about Adobe when you in fact mean Premiere.)

Did you look at the .srt or the subcap (.txt) file?

Send me the .srt, and your desired fps, and i’ll give you a working subcap file, or a bin with sequence.

AE can do this for sure, if you use ‘interpret footage’ and set it to the source fps (if it’s not good already.)
Don’t use 23.98, as it is wrong.
The correct number is 23.976

then put the stuff in a 25 fps sequence and you’re good.

You’re making a serious mistake.
SRT has NO frames, but milliseconds after the whole seconds.

(I could have done the conversion for you (including down/uploading) in less than 30 seconds…)

So, you have a sequence starting at 10 o’clock, with enough duration, and one single long subcap effect where you want to import? If so, after selecting a file, it should say something on what is going to happen. What does it say?

Then, I don’t like subCap for delivery, Tons of problems with cropping the bottom of the text, random behaviour of the outline thickness and other ugly stuff.

What I do is render out a QT with Alpha from my own software and simply overlay that.

From memory Matthias also made a render module that can render PNG’s (But then you need a macro to overlay the png’s on your timeline, or you’re in for a lot of work if you have a fair amount of titles.)

If you do this more often, you might want to invest in something more robust, but if it’s a one off, you can always outsource. (Will save you lots of time.)

Hi Brent,
Can you elaborate on this? It ‘should’ do auto detect the length, and I can’t think of a way you can set the duration manually if you want to insert into a QT. Now, if you want just a single BWF clip, then you have to enter start and duration.

SD pal is upper field frst for all codecs, except DV (and on that is an exception too, Avid DV is upper as well)

And I miss cropping in this whole story, as SD is an overscanned format.
