    Ashley,

Sorry for a slow responce, we’ve been out to IBC in the past couple of weeks and still catching up. To answer your question: Justification button is global to the text object so you may not be able to mix different justifications in the same instance of Calligraphy filter but you can add multiple filters to accomodate this text effect. I’m sure you’ve figured this out by now, but just in case…

We are working on web tutorials for each one of top 10 features and Vector Trace is one of them. For the time being try to follow the HTML help system (search for Vector Trace in the search field) or follow this link:

Did you switch from two monitor setup to one? Your text palette may still be hanging on that missing monitor. In RED 4 Snap All Home command would move all palettes to your main screen. In prior versions you may have to trash your prefs or find that second monitor.

September 21, 2006 at 7:49 pm in reply to: RED for Intel Macs…..soon…..please?

No paper weight is not the best use for it. There will be an Intel version of RED 4 out soon (free to all RED 4 customers) but I can’t say how soon, that too will depend on another program. Stay tuned for an announcement.

August 31, 2006 at 12:55 pm in reply to: Can’t copy & paste keyframes in library effect

Here is what I can suggest:

    – Set your duration to 3 sec.
    – apply your effect from library browser
    – open project window
    – drag your text track (or container) to project window
    – delete your text track from timeline
    – change duration to 17 sec
    – open prefs and make sure that Keep Keyframe Time checkbox is on
    – drage your text back to timeline, now it stops at 3 sec and the rest of timeline is emptly
    – park your cti at the end of timeline (set menu Track->Snap To CTI to off)
    – expand every subtrack and copy and paste all ending keyframes from 3 sec to 17 sec

I just tried this with RED 3. I do not have RED 2.52 handy, it’s been released about 5 years ago.

    Hi Bridget,

You may be running BCC3 which is not compatible with AE7, get a trial version of BCC 4 (which is compatible) on our web site.

    George,

It’s hard to say what the problem may be without looking at your AE project. Try to contact our tech suport at 888-77-BORIS or email to support@borisfx.com and see what they have to say. I’ve never heard of this problem before.

Red 3 standalone should work in Rozetta. We plan to perform more tests and post the results. RED 3 plugin and Continuum will depend on the host application for intel support. So the answer is yes, you have to wait for updates.

  • I just reproduced your problem with changing text size in Controls window (using RED 3 on Mac). It only happened right after I typed text using text tool. The problem goes away if you expand the Face track and select the text media track nested below. From that point on the size parameter works (even if you go back to select Face). This problem will be addressed in the next update of RED and Graffiti.

July 29, 2006 at 3:24 pm in reply to: Will everything be fixed in RED 4 for FCP?

That is because text controls in the Control window such as font, size, fill color or stroke are not selection based. They always apply to the entire text object. However, notice that these parameters are animatable over time (see interpolation boxes next to sliders). In contrast the text style parameters displayed in the Text window are selection based but not animatable (hence no interpolation boxes). Choose these depending on the effect you are trying to achive.
