El Cap OS is fine for 10.3. And I have to agree it’s the sensible thing to do to wait on X update until out of mid-project. But don’t wait after that! 10.3’s performance improvements are quite good.

Umm… because keyboard shortcuts are FASTER? I find it really hard to believe that a direct keyboard shortcut, not needing any mouse/move/click first, is going to be slower than taking fingers off keys, moving to the TouchBar, and touching there. When you use a shortcut keystroke, the “button” is always right under your fingers!

If you don’t know all the trim shortcuts, you ain’t an editor, you’re a something+editor.

OK, good point – I didn’t think to go into some Inspector options, there could be some great value in there. For sure, I’d love a long touch slider to change values, rather than trying to get fine increments out of a value field with a mouse.

Playhead (moving or not) over the clip you want, hit C, which selects the clip on the Primary. Then Command-up/down to select connected up and down from Primary. Very fast.

re: the “ball”, yup, you’ve got the purpose correct. It’s a visual indicator to let you know what the Info palette is managing. The selection approach above is the only “override”.

Seeing the “duplicates” as well on C300 MKII imports. Haven’t noticed the 5:15 splits, but I’ve been shooting short clips since 10.3 install. It appears that the import function is seeing both the MXF and the XML on the camera card & importing both. Annoying. Also having a problem with these files that in some (all?) cases 10.3 is leaving files on the card instead of copying to Library (have not tried with an external media folder). But after import, the while line appears on the import browser for the card file, indicating the file’s been imported. This is beyond annoying – potentially disastrous.
