I did get it resolved. Thanks for asking.

Can I ask why Premiere? Are you on a Mac? Or
is there something you needed that Vegas didn’t
supply? Or was it just and interface thing? (Premiere works
for you in ways Vegas doesn’t)
Me I think Vegas with the 32 bit color and Blu-Ray is a
sweet ticket. There are a couple of things I would
change in the interface for work flow reasons but the way it can
work with almost any hardware is quite a turn on.

Wow good to know and great you got your problem solved.
Seems like the Sony codec has issues 🙁
    Has anyone else seen this?

    Bill,
I have a question. Did the Main Concept codec come with
Vegas or did you get it from something else?

    Thanks,

If you play a regular HD DVD or DVD on the PS3 do you get the same pink artifacts?
Just making sure the playback hardware doesnt have something to do with this.

    Other than that..
If you were to cut that scene out and render it by
itself to a file on your hard disk is it OK for PC playback.

What I am suggesting is you need to narrow the problem to
a particular area of footage first then review those
clips and see if there is anything unique about them.
    etc..

Narrow down the issue as small as you can then
you can say these images give me pink when burning to disk
or when rendering the file? So you can tell if its the Codec
or the actually burning software thats giving you a problem.

    Anyway.. Try those 🙂

Sorry just reread the post again and wanted to add this.

Animated titles? There is a new title animation program
in Vegas not as good as LiveType but good enough.

As far as effects you have to be very specific.
As you know there applications you can purcahse to
do anything you want on the PC same as on the Mac.
So.. you can always ammend your suite of tools with something
of your choosing and get handed something.

With such a low cost of entry Vegas offers you have a pretty good size budget before you reach the cost of FCP2 and the
8 core Mac you would need to run it.

Just think about it this way.

Is Vegas at its price point meeting your needs?
Are you missing anything you need to finish a job?
Do you want to buy new hardware?

With the 32bit pipeline now has Vegas enough color
space for the any color editor. Even animators can
render and not suffer from color gradient issues.

So since the video quality I to O is no longer at issue
and you can cut the video add effects, edit the audio,
etc. and playback on about any machine on the planet
(which is something I really love about Vegas) what is it
    you need?

FYI I am a plugin developer and would be really interested in
    this answer 🙂
I am moving from another application to Vegas.

So fire away what are you missing to finish a job?

    IMO,
There is a new titler which is a biggie.
The interface leaves something to be desired but the
    funtionality seems sweet.

    I dont have a blu-ray burner but if I did I would
consider being able to burn a disk from the timeline
    an interesting function.

Other than those features (just had it a couple of days) I
have not had much time to get into it.

As a business choice getting the update while its
cheap is a good move. You can wait until a point release comes out so at least you have the latest feature set available.

    or give them a call.
