I want to add my voice to those disappointed that the voice transcription feature was removed. The translation was occasionally comically bad, but it still was tremendously helpful for interview heavy projects. Can’t tell you how many times it saved me time just looking for a “but” or an “and”.

  • Have you guys tried updating your cuda driver to 6.5.45? It was released very recently. These Cuda updates are coming fast and furious. Haven’t had a chance to test it yet myself.

OH NO! This is tragic! It may not function perfectly (sometimes it’s transcription can be amusing) but for me it’s become a fantastic help. How many times do you need to find an “and” or “but” in an interview? Tremendously helpful for those little things.

December 19, 2014 at 2:12 pm in reply to: Eyedropper tool in Premiere Pro not working

Are you running a dual display system by chance? I’ve had an issue with having the source viewer in my second display (on the mac). Every time I need to use an eyedropper I have to move the window over to the primary display to get it to work.

  • It’s interesting that you guys are having good luck running 10.8.

It’s wildly unstable for me on 10.9.5. I may try putting Yosemite on my laptop as an experiment.

  • I’d love to know if there’s anyone out there using CC2014 with success on the Mac. I’m running 10.9.4 on a late 2012 iMac with a 680mx and the latest Cuda drivers. I’ve trashed prefs, removed 3rd party plugins, cleaned the cache and previews and tried all sorts of settings.

  • I’ve been on the phone with Adobe and Aja (I’m running an IO XT) and haven’t had any luck getting CC 2014 running. Like you, I’ve basically tried everything short of a total wipe and re install of my system, which I doubt will help – I’m having the same issues on my new Macbook Pro Retina as the iMac workstation.

Depending on the media type, I have stuttery playback, audio drifting out of sync, crackling or dropping out altogether. Canon C300 footage displays red frame flashes. Sony XAVC barely plays at all. Worst of all, frequent “serious error” crashes.

For now I’m sticking with v7.2.2, which is still stable. I hope they get this thing sorted out soon – I’m addicted to the new masking features.

Some have said that upgrading to Yosemite helps, though it creates problems for others.

October 20, 2014 at 8:44 pm in reply to: PP2014 breaks audio crossfades

    Hi Peter,
Thanks again for the response. The clicking has persisted. I’m running version 8.1.0, build 81 on an iMac with a 680mx graphics card and the io XT. The clicking is apparent on playback and the output renders.

Also, PP2014 has become massively unstable on my system. Lately I’ve found the video will simply stop outputting (or displaying on the PP program window) randomly while navigating the timeline. I can save and restart which brings it back on for a while. And then sometimes I’ll get the “serious error” crash and lose lots of work. Should I consider a total re install of my system or is this some other known issue?

October 16, 2014 at 3:32 pm in reply to: Major Problems with AJA Io XT and PP2014

    Hi Peter,
Thank you so much for the quick response! I’ve deleted the Aja prefs and am trying your settings now. The problem is intermittent, so it may take a while for it to raise it’s ugly head again.

Just to be clear – you’re suggesting rolling back to the Adobe plug in v 10.5.1, not the Aja driver?
    Thanks!

October 8, 2014 at 12:23 pm in reply to: IO XT Premiere Pro crackling, stuttery playback

Update: I did a test using various types of media and have discovered that in fact the IO XT works fine with most media types but for some reason chokes on Sony XAVC (from the F5).

I have no problem with 5D m3, C300 or XDCAM EX.

With the IO XT offline the XAVC plays back fine. Anyone else having this issue?
