Whew! This thread had me reaching for the xanax. I laughed, I cried…

I get it! I’m seeing it! I feel it! It’s driving me crazy. (In a good way)

Time to re-invent myself once again.

As my dear mother once told me, “ a pat on the back is a good thing, as long as it’s low enough and hard enough”

Seriously, I have been wrestling with this situation for more than a year. I do mostly pharmaceutical corporate work, which is where I got my start about 15 years ago, while holding a position in sales and marketing for a large company.

Five years later I have taken the “video production” out of my company name and now use my skill set to focus on digital media strategy. On line video strategy is what I’m offering now along with the tools I have developed over the years.

Most of the in-house folks I deal with on a daily basis do not get the impact a well produced on line video can have.

With the economy the way it is and the access issues pharmaceutical sales people are having globally, I feel the perfect storm is looming.

I feel in five years my dog will be able to edit and the perceived value of what I’m doing now will continue to diminish, sooo…. off to the races.

    All the best,

    Bob O’Hearn

    Hi Shane,

Can you give me a little more info on performing a sudo? I have all sorts of junk from years ago and many upgrades hanging around and want to upgrade to 6.0.1. I’m another FCP victim that needs to come to terms with MC.

    Thanks in advance,

    Bob

Wirecast is not responsible for the firewire issues. Follow Jeff’s instruction on how to connect. It didn’t help me. Let me know if you have any luck.

I feel your pain. I had the same thing happen to two Z1u’s using Wirecast. Most likely you blew the fire wire ports when plugging in the camera. My understanding is they are not hot swappable and need to be connected in sequence. I think I’ve posted here earlier when I had the problem. The fact that your other camera is working makes me think you have the same issue I had. Cost me about $150.00 per camera to fix.Oh yeah, forgot to mention the two JVC 100u that went south also for the same reason.

    Mark,
Thanks for the great info. I did end up purchasing a presidential setup with two 19″ monitors and a travel case. I keep a folder with your posts and your approach to teleprompting has been very helpful to me over the years. One of the benefits I get from this kind of work is the relationships that get built coaching and providing feedback to clients who don’t have much on camera experience(which is almost everyone these days).

They are also CEOs and decision makers in the companies I work for.

    Appreciate your sage advice.

    Regards,

    Bob

    Thanks Mark,
Can you give me the brand name of what you would purchase? Does it come with it’s own software or can I hook up my laptop and use the Listec program?

    Bob
