As usual, you are correct. I have had this laptop for 4 years and never had an occasion to check the font size. It was set for “125% -Default”. Once I changed it to 100% the small windows were visible in ScatterShot. However, now my font is sooooo small. Are there any other options to have the default font size and the windows visible in Scattershot at the same time? I will attempt to attach a .jpeg of what I was seeing. Thanks again for your prompt reply and I apologize for my error.

To add to this question. If I double click on the .veg file on my desktop, the project will open correctly…5.1 audio in Vegas 13. However, if I open Vegas first and then use the ‘explorer’ tab to navigate to the same .veg file it will only open with a stereo audio channel. If I then use the ‘media’ tab and select ‘Edit in Vegas’, it opens another instance of Vegas and again the project loads correctly with 5.1 audio. This can’t be working correctly.

Edit: I just realized that while in the ‘explorer’ tab, if I double click on the .veg file it will open correctly. Evidently, I have been dragging the .veg file to the timeline NOT selecting it by double clicking. Guess that makes a big difference. Sorry if I wasted your time but it seems to be solved.

Thank you. I have been using Vegas since VV3 and stopped at VP10 until I just updated to 13 and I NEVER noticed this before…to be honest, I don’t recall ever trying to open a 5.1 .veg using a newer version of Vegas before. I usually finish my projects with the same version that I began them with and until recently most of my projects were stereo anyway. Other than copy/paste between 10 and 13, is there an easier method?

Steve, Thanks for the quick reply. The strange thing about this is that I already have the 5.1 chosen as the default startup. Also, even though Vegas 13 only imports these .veg (previously saved in 10e as 5.1) as a single stereo, if I click on the project properties, it will indeed show as a 5.1 project. I am sure this must be my fault as I have searched several forum and have not found any references to this.

Okay, sorry for any confusion I have caused. John, you are correct, my camera does shoot 60p, I render to 60i.

What confuses me most is the difference between the ‘project properties’ and my ‘render as’ settings. If I take a clip directly from my camera and put it on the timeline, it sets the project properties to “Custom (1920×1080, 59.940 fps)”,Field order: “None (progressive scan), Pixel format: “8 Bit”. If I then change the properties to HD 1920x1080x60ix29.970 fps, Upper Field First, there is no apparent computer activity that indicates it is actually changing anything except on the properties. Why would it make a difference if Vegas makes these changes during the render as opposed to the property changes. I know I am not making this clear. Again thanks for your information…I will follow your advice…I just don’t fully understand the process.

PS. If you take an AVC clip such as I mentioned in the first post and put it on the timeline in Vegas 13 as a new project….what are your project properties set to (assuming that you want to output this to a Blu-Ray disk using the MC template I mentioned)? This is a Panasonic 900.

John, thanks for getting back so quickly. I shoot only hockey and soccer games for my grandsons. I thought the 60i would be best for all the quick action. I have done Blu-ray via Vegas 10 and didn’t have any problems with ghosting. Would everything render properly if I just chose the HD 1920x1080x60i template (and Start all projects with this setting) and let Vegas change the file properties as I added them to the timeline?
