I tried a dual head ATI card in a desktop and it did not work well. Also, I find displaying video on computer monitors does not look quite right. Thanks for your replies.

The component output is supposed to be 800 lines. Maybe try that.

I would charge in the $750-$900 a day range. The skills stay the same and so does the other gear.
I normally charge $1000 a day for Betacam SP, so a little discount for a cheaper camera (although with better imaging) would make sense to me.
Of course, you have the issue of handing off the footage to deal with.

Traditionally, still photographers have owned their negatives. In consulting with an entertainment law attorney, I was told that the production company owns the rights to the raw footage unless the contract states that it is a “work for hire.”

I’m rendering from MXF (1080p) to MOV. I just tried the mjpeg video format and it is much faster. It is 5 to 1. Not fast, but much better. I Thanks for the info.

You can render out your footage in any format and you want. You can shoot in HD and deliver in letterboxed SD. You can render for the web at any data rate you need. I have been working with an EX1 and like it.

You definitely need some kind of shoulder mount though. It is good in low light and there are no dropouts that I have seen (I have seen digital dropout errors on P2 card footage).

I think you should try to rent one if you can. That way you will see what it can do. The footage looks great.

Actually, the chips in the HVX200 are only 950×540. Not true HD.
