    I wrote it kinda wrong!
What I forgot to mention was …
I know that you can edit H.264 footage with Vegas Pro.
But is it best to get one of these programs/plug-ins if you`re editing a long project with many layers, etc, and transcoding to a another codec?

    Thanks, Buddy.
Your info & links really helps.

  • MOV = Quick Time.
    Not the same as AVCHD.
And it can be imported into Vegas Movie Studio

    Hi again.
I could also use 1080/60i footage.
There`s maybe more videographers from USA on this forum.

April 18, 2011 at 9:28 am in reply to: 25 or 50 Frame rate

When I`m using the Match Media Settings button and navigate to the DV PAL file and selecting it, the Project Properties shows a Frame rate of 25,000 – not 50,000.

    Also …
I thought that if the videofile has a Frame rate of 25, the Project properties should also be 25.
I`m not going to replace the DV files with the original HD 50p files.

    I think you have misunderstood.
I don`t want stock footage and ready-made clips.
I want to give the effect to footage that I have filmed.
Someting like the old Profound Effects CameraPOV for After Effects (they don`t exist anymore).
Here is an example from Google:

  • I know it isn`t batch rendering …
Maybe Eugenia`s workflow is the best solution.

I`m a newbie, so bear with me …

Guy McLoughlin: Some NLEs have no problem with it, but many do, so depending on your NLE you may have to transcode to an I-frame based CODEC to properly edit your AVCHD footage.

    How do you do that?

Guy McLoughlin: I agree that there are many bad implementations of the AVCHD CODEC that can produce horrible results, but the Panasonic AVCCAM implementation is a very good CODEC.

Do you mean that cameras like Panasonic SD600 and SD700 have horrible codec`s?
