I just purchased an IOLA and I’m dissapointed in the svideo quality also firewire issues when using firewire drives. I did just receive a separate firewire card that should clear up the firewire issues. My plan was to getaway from dv 25 and capture dv 50 (great codec) via s video but now because of the s video quality I’m thinking of coming out s-video breakout cable from the component output thus not needing the s video which the IOLA has. I would go with the LH more capabilty for a few more bucks.

Hi Gary,

My lightwave guy says he can’t find pjpeg (75%), he rendered psd uncompressed frames 1080ix1920 at 8 mb per frame and he’s freakin out, can you steer us in the right direction and point out the pjpeg

Will the extreme provide an ntsc monitor out with an HDV timeline in FCP5. also i like the wokflow you spoke of: capture HDV firewire then output to a SD/downconvert from a DVCproHD timeline of the HDV material is this correct ?
