Yeah I agree $500-$600 price is totally acceptable … the website says $1,000 , but I guess they are less in the real world. So your unit works just fine ?

Hi Walter … thanks for the quick response 🙂 I hope your enjoying a balmy Altlanta climate while its still cold and snowy here in Colorado. Cool , I didn’t know those slot loading BluRay drives were out there. For me two issues with what I see .. cost … a one thousand dollar peripheral , and secondly only available on 17″ MacBooks … I’m a 15″ guy from way back. Don’t let this cast any dispersions on my man hood.

    1. from a sales point of view , won’t this announcement KILL sales of current models for the next year ?
    2. One of my favorite things about this platform is the lack of virus’s … will this all now change with Intel chips ?

Import your photos at about 1200 pixels width – 72 dpi , as this is the native resolution of FCP. Remember the actual screen width in FCP is 720 pixels …; so 1200 will give you plenty of room to zoom or pan shots . The mistake people usually make is to apply too much movement to shots … which will cause pixelation. Just push, pull or pan ever so slightly ….this will still give you a nice organice effect without being cheezy. There arte two filters that will be your friend in the Effects tab …. “Flicker Filter” use the med to high one… and “BLUR” … you will often get some slight pixelation on movement ..if you apply a slight Gaussian Blur ( like .4).. this will often due the trick. Most producers don’t take advantage of using still photography in their productions…which has saved my butt on many an occassion. Good luck.
