Our company does not do the premastering process for replicating from Encore, so I cannot give you an authoritative answer. But the size of the assets should not increase because of Blu Streak Premaster.

Is there a specific reason you are transcoding to 720/23.976P? That is a bit of an oddball format, and some hardware and software will not be able to deal with it. I would work at 1080/23.976P, which should have far fewer issues.

Unless you are encoding using a high-end spec-compliant hardware encoder such as the Sony or Sonic Blu-ray encoders, forget about using MPEG-2 for Blu-ray. The h.264 for Blu-ray preset in Apple Compressor 3 or 4 is Blu-ray spec-compliant, and you will be able to replicate using these encodes.
Note that Encore will NOT produce a usable BDCMF for replication unless you run your project through Blu Streak Premaster.

1. First of all, any device to lock content via a keypad and password is not secure at all. The security can be circumvented very easily by anyone who knows their way around a DVD remote. It’s also much easier to implement using a spec-authoring app such as Scenarist, where you can do some programming to store the password and do calculations on it.
But, if you want to try it, you could make four instances of a menu (for a four digit password) with art that looks like a phone keypad with ten buttons corresponding to numbers. If you activate the correct number key in each one, you navigate to the program. Otherwise, the navigation goes to some sort of graphic with an error message.
2. To make your program jump back to the main menu, click on the program asset in the flowchart, and set the end action to point to your main menu.

In Encore CS-6 Mac, the .mp4 for Blu-ray 2-pass VBR encodes done using AME now have the “do not transcode” setting available. I have not tried CS-6 on PC.

Alien Skin has some “fine art” Photoshop plug-ins that might be helpful. Also you might want to experiment with adding some texture to the replaced face, which suffers from looking too good compared to the surrounding image.

I have not yet encountered a Blu-ray player that fails to hold the picture, even the original Sony Blu-ray player I still use at home. Thanks for the reference to the issue in BD Demystified — I will check it out over the weekend.

Remove your assets from the project and timeline tabs. Then you must remove the undesired assets from the folder Encore is reading them from.
The next time you open the project to reuse it for different assets, Encore will ask you to locate the missing assets. Hit the “offline” or “offline all” button.

What are you using to play the burned Blu-ray disc? The frame buffer in the player should hold the last image on-screen while the laser jumps to another asset. This issue might crop up in a software player. If this behavior happens on hardware Blu-ray players, your Encore project might have a weird issue or maybe the encodes are questionable.
