Sorry, but is Nigel saying the hdmi port doesn’t work for simple monitoring on set or for external recording off the hdmi port with the hack? Thanks for clarifying.

June 30, 2011 at 2:23 pm in reply to: FCPX requires an HD Graphics 3000 card for Macbook Pro?Thanks kindly. I was looking at the apple graphics card sheet and thought the 2.33 17″ didn’t make the cut. Glad you have it running.
Yeah, it is getting old. I’m using the express card slot with a dual 800 FW adapter now since the 800 and 400 busses are toast. It’s been a good workhorse on the road. Thanks again! Bill -
Firstly, thanks so much for details on the dell panels.
To double check, I can find out if I have a TN pannel by googling and finding a list of serial numbers that might diferenciate between TN and S-IPS?
At this point, I have gotten the MXO to work with my 2005fpw.
But I have a jumpy 1080p 29.97 image. It looks like a progressive jumpiness. What’s weird is in FCP is that when it asks me to select a format mode for the project I can select MXO XDCAM 1080p 29.97
(which I assume is 30 at dropframe) but to output it to my dell it doesn’t give me the same setting option…the closest I can get is uncompressed 1080p 29.97. It has HDV, DVCPro50 and such but no XDCAM setting. I assume they have to match.Maybe you could tell me what your settings are in FCP while using the MXO for project set-up and external monitoring?
Again, thank you so much!

You may be right.
But, I had a 20″ cinema display work fine with it, and I’m told the panel is the same as the dell which displays 1680×1050.
Any other experience from folks would be most appreciated.
Thanks, Bill

Hello,
I was reading a thread you input on using a 2005 dell.
I just got my matrox mxo, tried the hook-up and install like I just did on a set-up in my office with two 20″ cinema displays which worked fine and I get no display at all on the 2005. In apple display settings there’s just the laptop display, not one for the 2005 at all. It doesn’t sense anything out the DVI port.
I’m wondering if you have any tips on set-up that I should be aware of. I tried Matrox themselves and was running into walls.
Thanks so much for any help you can give!

April 23, 2008 at 8:39 pm in reply to: XDCAM transfer doesn’t see my archioved BPAV folder filesHey, it turned out that only the latest FCP Studio 2 updates solved my problems.
ProApplicationsUpdate2008-01.dmg from the FCP site did the trick.
Not exactly sure if it was QT or FCP at this point, but making sure people have the latest updates seems to be the key if you’re on studio 2, and OS 10.5.2.
Thanks so very much for your willingness to help!

April 22, 2008 at 1:43 am in reply to: XDCAM transfer doesn’t see my archioved BPAV folder filesHey thanks Craig, I got the same tip from Chris and Ken Stone. However I still a problem.
The files now load in XDCAM but I can’t see them, no thumbnails or image in the main viewer.
The one clip still on my SXS card shows on the camera fine but like the archived dumps, it doesn’t show in XDCAM Transfer.
Maybe some setting in 2.5.1 I’m not aware of?
Thanks for any help you can offer, it’s greatly appreciated!
