I’m using Resolve Light and MC6.01 on my workstation. The capabilities of Resolve far exceed what I can do inside MC. The only (small) hiccup is in file transfers between the two, however, keeping everything in OP1 file format REALLY makes the interchange pretty slick and painless.
I, also, use Avid Color Control, which works seamlessly in both applications.
My only real complaint with this workflow is that Resolve doesn’t, currently, carry the audio portion of my OP1 files. That’s admittedly, a small inconvenience.

IMHO, the problem is not noise due to high ISO that you’re experiencing. The problem you have is endemic to all 8-bit native acquisition codecs, especially when captured at a reduced color space like 420 or 422. The moment you start color grading the digital data, you introduce noise because you’re trying to extract data that isn’t there to begin with. You can mitigate the problem by working in 10-bit color space, but, even that isn’t going to ameliorate your noise problem. The best you can hope for is to use a quality denoiser like “Neatvideo”.

U didn’t mention your platform. On a PC, the LUT file goes in C:\Program Data\Blackmagic Design\Davinci Resolve\Support\LUT. Then you can apply the LUT within a node.

I’m running Resolve Lite 8.2 on an HP 8740W with an Avid Color panel. No problems whatsoever!! It works like a dream. Roundtripping to Avid MC6.01 on the same laptop also works without a single complaint.

I’ve been engaged in a similar discussion over on the COW Davinci Resolve Forum. It seems Resolve has already dealt with this issue by providing the option to select full range or remapped range.When I import the Hyperdeck DNxHD files into Resolve, and select ‘full range’, I get a ‘properly’ colored image.
It looks like the Hyperdeck is exporting the recorded data with the wrong flag set in the header. The flag is telling your NLE to remap all input values to a reduced range. My workaround is to import into resolve, first, and export to OP1a. Alternatively, you can reset the levels after you import into your NLE.
At this point, however, I’m not convinced that the superblacks aren’t being clipped. I sure would like BMD to give us some feedback about this.
