Too bad it needs a Microsoft OS.

All i see is Resolve/Windows troubles on the Cow.

Any fully functional stable Resolve systems on Windows around here?

It doesn’t. My working lion computer for the last year runs on gigabyte mb, at my studio there is only one mac pro and 7 os x computers running on gigabyte or asus motherboards. Just google hackintosh. After waiting for 45 days for burnt mac pro board replacement I can’t afford to buy apple hardware anymore. But osx is stable and virus free.

I’ve had some bad experiences with asus motherboards, their drivers tend to be buggy and they are slow to update. Would not recommend jumping in to a version 1 chipset with asus. I’m waiting for a gigabyte board, and running windows. Hackintosh as cool as it is, is all sorts of finicky and can be very unstable.

Wow that board looks really nice I have had really good luck with the Asus P6T7 WS “supercomputer” board I have and have been thinking about rebuilding it as a dual boot Lion and Win-7.

I am pretty skeptical about a new Mac-Pro and have thought that the current line from Apple is severely weak for a while.

I’m running Resolve Lite 8.2 on an HP 8740W with an Avid Color panel. No problems whatsoever!! It works like a dream. Roundtripping to Avid MC6.01 on the same laptop also works without a single complaint.
