Adobe has finally pushed me over the edge.
After looking around, I settled on Capture One v20. Let me say I wonder why I didn’t change a long time ago. C1 interfaces nicely with my Tangent control surfaces. In addition, the latest v20 has amazing features enabling layers and layer masks. Years ahead of Adobe technology.

It seems to be a defacto truth that LUTS are designed to output to REC709, which is not an extended gamut. If one wishes to use a LUT designed to output to an extended video space, generally, one must create this LUT for themself. May I suggest you look into Ben Turley’s LUTCALC. In LUTCALC, one has the option of generating a full scale LUT output.

    Just received my order….;)

  • First thing that stands out, to me, is that you’re not on the latest update to win 10-64.

In many cases, spectral hilites can be knocked down with a polarizing filter on the camera at the time of capture. You may want to try that approach.

I’ve been fooling around with eGPU solutions for a Mac laptop. I can say, sincerely, it’s not ready for prime time. Some people have been able to get it working, but, the advantages are problemmatic. Add to that Apple keeps messing with eGPU enabling on each release of their OSX. All in all, not worth the time and $$.

Can’t you mask those high luminosity areas before you sharpen the rest?

Sorry for the typo…thats a very current GTX 1070 vidcard with the latest nvidia drivers. All worked well with v 14.x. It was the update to v15 that stopped working.
I am aware that win 7 64SP has not been a supported version for quite some time. Nevertheless, it would be a surprise to me if a bug in Win 7 was unique to win7 ; and not win 10.
At any rate, I made the report, JIC anyone else also experiences the crash.
    Thanx
