It’s possible that this isn’t an audio plugins problem. I had a similar crash when starting Resolve 14 until I updated my video drivers.

Unable to edit my previous post.
Issue resolved by updating the nVidia drivers to v384.75

D/L’ed Resolve 14b6. Installs successfully, but fails to start when reaching “Searching for Control Panels” .
Windows 7SP1, nVidia GPU v376.91

U may want to wait a few months, if you can. The newest X-SYNC monitors coming from ASUS promise outstanding 4k, HDR performance at refresh rates that match your video card capabilities.

Two suggestions…
1-for a moderate price, you can get 10 bit video processing with a 10 series GTX card
2-the best way to get the thruput datarate needed to playback 4K, realtime, is to use a motherboard with Thunderbolt II or III.

Can BMD provide which nVidia driver is recommended for Resolve 12.5.5? The only one that was working with 12.5.4 was nVidia driver v373.06. Has this been updated?

I exported an OP1A DNxHR HQx file from Avid Media Composer and it does NOT have this issue. The issue appears to be with Resolve.
EDIT: I installed your recommended nVidia driver; and, as you said, that fixed things. I guess DaVinci hasn’t caught up with the latest nVidia releases.

Interesting. But, I am already using nVidia driver v 375.86. Will rolling back to an earlier version really help?

According to several articles on NLE’s, I’ve read, the processing in Adobe After Effects is noticeably better than Resolve. I can’t comment on whether Premiere follows this advice. The superior quality of After FX, though, has a caveat in that the time to perform the render is considerably longer then Resolve. The articles were reporting, specifically, on the transcoding of RAW files to Prores. So, I can’t comment on other transcodes.
