In all fairness, I felt I had to define the specifics of what was experienced with the Miraizon codec. It is possible to record to ProRes with a Convergent Design O7Q. Before loading the Miraizon codec, O7Q files playback without a problem. After installation of the Miraizon codec, O7Q files won’t play back. Not sure about other problems, if any. Perhaps this is a very specific problem.
Since Apple certifies all uses of its Prores codec, and the Miraizon codec is a reverse engineered, no approved or certified version, I remain dubious and I would urge caution.

BMD can’t even agree to feed an RGB signal instead of YUV, unless one pays for HDLink. So, I rather doubt they can negotiate ProRes with Apple.

NOT! The Mirizon codec overwrites the authentic Apple ProRes codec when it installs. Certain features, not available in the Mirizon version, become disabled. Not a good suggestion.

There’s a driver problem with the Dxxx series video cards and mavericks 10.9.3. AMD blames Apple, Apple blames AMD. Stay tuned.

hmmmm….the proper way of increasing the RMS volume is to use a compressor on the audio signal. You want to be sure to keep the peaks below 0 dB, but, boost the mean volume. This is done with a compressor/limiter.

Can’t you change the tape/reelname from withing Avid? MODIFY>SET SOURCE>TAPE NAME

I’ve been experimenting with MediaMover for both the PC and the MAC platforms. MediaMover creates an “offline” directory for moving unused MXF files. Otherwise, it’s very much like Media Database Mover (MDV).

If I launch Media Composer, then exit, Artist Color hangs and won’t start in Resolve 10.1.3. I’ve started “Ending Process” for Euphonix in the Task Manager, then restarting. That seems to reset Artist Color.
