Media Composer + Black Magic + 10.9.2/3 + Mac Can NOT WORKING…
Hey Folks,
I have a bunch of new Mac Pro mac-cans with blackmagic break out boxes Ultra Studio 4K and Ultrastdio Express thunderbolt and we’re getting glitchy playback and out of sync audio. BMD website says it works. Avid looks like they are saying no open IO on Mavricks?
Is any one running similar systems? We are using 6-core and 12-core with D500 and D700 GPU. Some have 64GB and some have 32GB. Tried using latest version of BMD driver, but rolling back to 9.9.4 (the stealth version that ships with the Teranex installer). No other versions seem to run at all with Mavricks.
Please advise if you have any info.

There’s a driver problem with the Dxxx series video cards and mavericks 10.9.3. AMD blames Apple, Apple blames AMD. Stay tuned.

its a known issue with the latest BM driver 10.x.x and the latest Media Composer. 2 separate issues. The Blackmagic Driver is funky and Media Composer 7.0.4 is funky in how it interacts with any Blackmagic devices no matter the driver.
Avid is working on a fix..BM dropped a new driver today that claimed to have Media Compose fix but it just froze my system.
The most stablest build so far is BM driver 9.9.3 and Media Composer 7.0.3. After testing, i went back to this build.

Agreed, 9.9.3 and 7.0.3 is the only working combination
