    You have to go into UV Edit mode to unwrap objects. I just made a tutorial a few days ago dealing with this very subject. I end up going into After Effects and applying a video texture to the object in the tutorial, but you could just as easily bring the texture map into Photoshop after you save it and paint on to your object there.

    A good place to start would be Robert Leger’s breakdown of the opening shot of his demo reel. The first part is all Cinema 4D and in the second part he composites it all together in After Effects.

  • You could use the Liquify filter. It works exactly the same as the Liquify filter in Photoshop. A google search would probably find plenty of tutorials. If your singer is moving around, you’d probably have to keyframe the position to follow her. Start with the center on a specific point (say, the nose), and when the nose changes position just move the point along with it and set another keyframe. Rinse and repeat.

    Duplicate your green screen layer. Draw a mask around the area you want to keep. Key the original layer and the masked layer will stay intact.

    There’s a couple ways you could do this:

    1.Select all three objects at the same time, right click, go down and select “Group Objects”. This will put all 3 objects into a null object. Then, keyframe and rotate the null object.

    2.Select all three objects at the same time, hit the “C” key to make them editable. With all 3 still selected, right click, go down and select “Connect and Delete”. This will connect the meshes of your three objects into one and delete the original three. Then, keyframe and rotate the one object.

    Doing some UVW mapping will probably get it done for you. Basically, you “unwrap” your polygon object and map it to a flat surface, whereupon you color the polygons in photoshop, save it as a file, make a material using that file, and then apply the material to your object using UVW mapping as the projection method.

    Also, if you like the animation of your particle system and aren’t planning on changing it, you could “Bake” your particles so that the computer doesn’t have figure out the math every time it is playing back, thus giving it more resources to play the other stuff in real time.

    Been trying to download Lite for a while now. Keep getting a “Site Error” after I fill out the registration form. Guess I’ll wait til later and try again. Probably some server/bandwidth issues in relation to the rollout today.
