Call the Sony XDCAM support desk….800-883-6817, then push 5, then 3..ask for Ian or Lou….but I really do think you will be shipping your EX-1 to them in New Jersey, as that’s where the service center is. Good Luck…

this is what I use on my Sony EX-3…it will fit on the VC-14 plate that I used in my “betacam days”…..I have gone through 2 of them, be careful when using the shoulder mount section..it does crack over time…so I stopped using it and the system works just fine. The shoulder mount will come with 2 adapters to use on the VCT-14….

December 8, 2015 at 3:57 pm in reply to: SxS-1 card issue

I know this won’t help you now….but owning a EX-3 for the past 5 years..I have learned this:

    1. always format the card before going out to shoot, as I still do news and sports for the networks.

    2. after a long interview or shooting at a location for B-roll..I always push that “3 second re-play button” on the lens to check to see if I got the last shot…if I have the last shot, then all is OK..and that has made me sleep better at night….

    3. the last resort..if you have time…flip over to see the thumbnails or timeline….if you have all the shots, then your OK for the day.

I hope this helps….good luck in restoration of your footage.

I would use this from Sony:

    https://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/contentbrowser1

Content Browser 1..its free, or pay the 20 bucks and get the better version…

this will allow you to see that you have shot.

Being a EX-3 owner….I understand that the Sonnet will only do SxS cards only…the SDHC cards have a different format.

I have the new Sony SBACUS30…and that reader does both….this is what I have been told, and that’s why I went with the Sony…

September 13, 2015 at 4:15 pm in reply to: Strange audio artifacts XDCam PMW-350

    Hello From Dallas, Texas..USA…

I shoot news with a Sony EX-3 and have the same mike set up that you have (but use a Senn 416 with power adapter/Senn G-3 block A) and sometimes I get the same effects…I change the frequencies using the scan function and I get the same thing…so I have to go hard wire….But I am always around the fire trucks or police cars…and they might be doing something to the frequencies.

But as you did, when I got home I did a full test of everything…I even had my daughter walk down the block of my neighborhood…with the shotgun mike in hand, going about 150 ft….I had her do the same thing again, but this time I had the plug in transmitter connected to a Shure RE-50 hand mike….

and both times I got CLEAR audio….

    So, its “X-Files” time……strange……

As a EX-3 owner…this might help..make sure that the “auto-functions” are all set to “manual”. I am sure that you have checked this, but it does sound like a focus problem. I friend here in Dallas has a PMW-300 and he loves it and works just fine…he has had it for 1 year with no problems.

    Good luck…

    044-1-256-683850

I assume that the “044” is the US country code…but this is the number that the US help desk gave me…good luck…
