  • Hi all. I wonder if I can jump on quite an old thread…!

I am editing a documentary roughcut with a library of around 5.5tb at the moment. Wanting to keep a back of progress as the edit comes along, I’ve simply being copying the library folder in finder as one huge file. That’s getting to be a pretty long task. So recently I tried copying the project file only, dropping the whole projects folder into the library (using ‘show package contents’ etc in finder) expected to see the updated projects when opening fcpx on the second drive, but it isn’t appearing. Has anyone tried this method – am I doing something spectacularly wrong?

    Thanks!

  • Hi Yavuz

I’m trying to find an answer to my issue and wonder if you have had something similar…..

On my first big export with a new set up I’m having real blurring on movement, basically a kind of shadow on anything which has moved.

I shot in AVCHD and the .mts was automatically changed to a .mov h264 on import. It’s all 1080i. So I edited my sequence doing this, and now need to deliver an original quality output for broadcast. I’ve been asked to deliver ProRes.

But exporting ProRes via the Share function (I have compressor, but need to use the ‘roles’ function to ensure two audio tracks), leaves me with very nasty movement shadows. I tested DV PRO50 as well, that’s almost as bad (if not the same)

Not sure where to go with this….Any help appreciated!

Hi guys, did you solve this issue?

I’m stuck with clips i can’t seem to get two tracks of audio on….Keeps telling me unsupported clip (have shit in both linear pcm and dolby surround to test)…made a compound clip but it keeps only giving me the option of having stereo or dual mono – but both separate tracks as one, effectively. as soon as i detach or break apart in the drop down menu, the info window goes straight back to saying unsupported.

I just want my two different channels on the timeline!

    Aaaah!

Hi Sarah. I’ve done the same thing as you. Feels great, huh? Anyway, I’m keen on hearing if you’ve solved your issue. Did you end up downgrading to Snow Leopard? First Mac product I’ve ever bought, pissed off straight away; 100 per cent bought in order to use final cut – and not fcpx, Don’t have an install disc for another OS either….Bill

Have you managed to succesfully install fcp 7? I too have made this awful error, and am also not interested in fcpx. I’ve been considering downgrading to snow leopard somehow. I have a copy of fcp6 I was going to install,….and now, well, shit. Very keen on hearing where you’re at now! Bill
