Thanks, Baz. I’m on the verge of ordering the upgrade, but I have a large v2 project in the works, that doesn’t contain any TGA or AIF files as yours does. When I upgraded from 1.5 to 2, I brought a v1.5 project into v2 with no problems whatsoever. I’m running a dual-boot sys (win xp pro x32 and x64). So, if and when I get CS3, I might try loading it on the x32 side and open a copied v2 project file and see what happens. BTW, v2 works like a charm with Win XP Pro x64. Memory issues with large projects, gone.

Works fine. Make certain to enable the /3gb switch in your boot ini. See microsoft support for how to do that.

    Peter:

I’m still on WinXP x64. I have not yet installed any of the Vista versions including 64.

The mxf codec appears to be available with Avid Liquid Chrome Xe and AJA’s LHe.

May 9, 2007 at 1:52 am in reply to: cs3:10-Bit Rendering?

Thanks Baz. I wasn’t aware of that, but I’m glad to know it. I had it my head that regardless of the capture card/codec, etc. PPro2 only rendered a max of 8-bit.

Surely someone knows whether or not CS3, when working with 10-bit files, will render effects, color/brightness/constrast, etc in 10-bit. PPro V2 and earlier, regardless of the original files, rendered out 8-bit. Hello? Anyone home?

I hope BMD responds to this issue, because I had to put every clip in a recent show through Adobe Audition to remove those clicks and pops you describe. Like you, I captured all the clips (SD) through SDI, too.

I believe MB Suite only works in AE. MB Editor works in PPro.

I’m running PPro 2 on a 64-bit XP platform, and it works like a charm. A lot of the memory issues with large projects (like mine) seem to have gone away. Whether or not CS3 will on Vista 64 or not, who knows.
