    Thanks Jon & Steve

Thanks for your advice. The difference between the two acquistion formats is glaring, even with shots that don’t include pans, tilts or in-frame action. I am considering purchasing Magic Bullet Suite, but as yet haven’t. I’ll try a demo to see how it treats the ‘traditional’ footage. As regards Twixtor, perhaps they offer a demo version to check out, too. Thanks again.

    Shane:

Tried your suggestions, but unfortunately they didn’t have any positive effect. I think the nVidia driver is not getting along very well with something in my sys. Perhaps future drivers will resolve the issues. Nonetheless thanks for your effort.

Very well said. When it comes to the alternative systems (non-AVID), I’m not sure which rule should apply: “You get what you pay for.” or “You don’t get what you pay for.”

You won’t have any issues with PremPro1.5, but you will with 32-bit drivers of other components. And you may have problems with 64-bit drivers which have not been perfected.

I’ve been anxiously awaiting for the right time to go 64-bit on everything, but I’m afraid at this point the time has not arrived.

I’ve come to really adore the “Serious error” message. As my constant companion, I look forward to its arrival every few minutes. After all, it’s FREE compliments of Adobe and perhaps BMD. It gives us time to take breaks, read the trades, while our projects reload. Time to contemplate why we invested so much time and resources into our quasi-professional systems. While I was once unnerved by “Serious Error,” I now look forward to it, and frankly I am relieved when it shows up. It may be the only truly consistent aspect of my system.

Though I might be enjoying a creative streak making a sequence work better than I thought possible, the interruptions help kill those streaks. They help guarantee that my projects are as mediocre as the system with which they are constructed.

Nevermind. I found the answer. 32-bit DRIVERS will not work with Win XP Pro X64. But most 32-bit APPS will. So, until BMD releases 64-bit drivers, those of us needing 64-bit advantages are SOL.
