    Hello,

When I try and install I get the blue progress bar on Windows XP then it has not passed Windows logo testing the Blackmagic decklink, I click continue, then I get a message saying that the installer was interrupted and to close the installer and try again. I try again and it still does this. So I will use the last drivers I think. I un-installed my previous drivers 5.2.2 Decklink before I tried to install the latest drivers.

Anyone else have this same problem?

    Warm Regards,

Same problem with 5.3.1. We are using a dual xeon 3.4 with Hyperthreading, supermicro X6DH8-Xg2 motherboard, nvidea fx3400, decklink HD Pro 4:4:4. Anyone with similiar config?

The only driver we can get to install is 5.1.1. any info is appreciated

    Hi…

i had also problems to install 5.3.1
I work with only with PPro, so i had no Quicktime installed.
    When i install quiktime 6.5 i can install also 5.3.1 !!!

    Claus:

I’ve come to really adore the “Serious error” message. As my constant companion, I look forward to its arrival every few minutes. After all, it’s FREE compliments of Adobe and perhaps BMD. It gives us time to take breaks, read the trades, while our projects reload. Time to contemplate why we invested so much time and resources into our quasi-professional systems. While I was once unnerved by “Serious Error,” I now look forward to it, and frankly I am relieved when it shows up. It may be the only truly consistent aspect of my system.

Though I might be enjoying a creative streak making a sequence work better than I thought possible, the interruptions help kill those streaks. They help guarantee that my projects are as mediocre as the system with which they are constructed.

Interesting. What system config do you have? We talked to Blackmagic and they said 99% work fine, only a few of us are having these problmes, I am thinking it could be hardware/bios related.

Yes the serious error message is a constant companion for timeline renders.

Don’t you find it gets that addreneline running like “live TV” did. Will I lose anything when it crashes? Will it recognize the renders it has done? Will I have to start all over?

    But seriously…

What do we have in common with the reneder problems? Maybe we can help track this thorn down. What have people tried? Has anyone tried running SP1 instead of SP2? Turning off screensavers or FX in desktop settings? What virtual memory size? on what drives? I’m trying to move a system back to SP1 next week to see if that helps.

BLACK-MAGIC – any chance of sharing setup specifics on your test system(s)?

I have four suites with 2 different BM cards and 2 different Motherboards and the “serious error” shows up in all 4 systems if you render anything that takes over a five minutes or so in Premiere. The systems usually keep rendering till they are done and you can save manually before clicking on the “OK” and crashing.

Here are some of my notes

    WinXP SP2 with all updates
I’ve tried with and without the Microsoft SP2 dual processor hotfix for Premiere…
    Adobe Premiere 1.5
    Adobe Premiere patch to 1.51
MPEG 1.1 update from Mainconcept (I’ve tried with and without)
Quicktime 6.5 and 7.03 (doesn’t seem to matter)
    DirectX 9.0c
BlackMagic 5.1 and on… I think all versions exhibit the problem but can’t be sure.
Trend Micro – I’ve diabled this from time to time and it doesn’t seem to matter.

    computers are
3 are Tyan s2895 with 2×250 (or 1×270)June bios and latest bios
    2 gigs ECC ram
NVidia FX 1100 or Geforce 6800GT 256 meg video card
    storage is
Maxtor 120 gig IDE system drive
    LG DVD burner
    Onboard NVidia SATA with
1- 300 gig Maxtor scratch disk
    3 x 300 gig windows stripe set
NVidia built in raid was a problem at one point so I went with a strip set)
BlackMagic Decklink HD PRo single link or Decklink Plus, tried both 133mhz slot and adjacent 100mhz slot.

The 4th is a Supermicro P4DCE+ from a retired Discreet Edit system
    2×2.4 ghz Xeon
    2 gig ecc ram
    storage
    40 gig ide system drive
    Pioneer a03 DVD burner
    3ware 7000 IDE raid
    1 x 40 gig scratch
    2×160 gig media storage
    Geforce AGP 6200 128meg video
    BlackMagic Decklink SD Plus

Anyone see anything in common with your systems?…other than the Black Magic Card?

I have exactly same problems with Leo. What is your card bus type (PCI or PCIe)? I have Decklink SP PCIe and I’ve tried all PCIe slots of recommend mainboard (Asus A8N-E). No way to install. 🙁
