[I wake up the next day after doing some tests]
I think I can answer my own question. My objective is to get my 1080p30 video online. (squashed down to 640×360 for youtube)
If I capture 1080p30 footage with 1080i in FCP, I’m just feeding it a single frame for both fields. When I export my video out, it sure looks progressive. I don’t see any interlacing artifacts.
Can anyone verify my reasoning?

My system would hang/crash when I exported a program to After Effects if it had a still frame in the time line. Export said still as a JPG/PCT, reimport when in After Effects.
I’ve had problems exporting AIFF audio from a timeline. (would hang/crash) Exporting as a WAV file seemed to fix that.
Not sure if that helps ya, but that’s what I’ve struggled with.

I got one of these suckers, and as Barry Green mentions, there is definitely a focus issue. (as I’ve learned the hard way)
First, the lens looks GREAT when it works. W I D E as all hell too! Don’t forget that you’ll be looking at the “raw” non-squeezed anamorphic picture in the LCD or eyepiece. You’ll have to connect an external 16×9 monitor to see the final results. (Pain in the butt if your shooting run and gun) I had not probelm framing everything in 4×3 mode.
All my wide shots worked great. I was shooting a subject sitting in front of a computer with a 650 watt softlight on the guy. (certainly wasn’t underlit) I was about 7 feet away from my subject with my back to a wall. How does one normally focus? I zoomed in on his face. I think: Hey, I can’t seem to catch a focus on his nose, no matter where I turn the focus ring. I zoom back and frame the shot, it looks fine in the LCD. Think: must have enough depth of field at this point causes it’s not zoomed all the way in.
I get back to my editing station and look at it on a real monitor. DOH! I was about a foot off, focus ended up behind my subject. Stupid LCD. (stupid cameraman)
AND I managed to strip the stupid screw on my lens too. (see other thread)

Yea…I managed to strip that damn screw almost immediately when I go the lens. They only way to get it off once it’s stripped is to insert a jewlers screwdriver into the hole and grip the inside ring for about a quarter of a turn, then it unscrews the rest of the way. (if not, it’ll just spin and spin)
Anyone got any ideas on FIXING the now useless screw hole? Make another threaded hole in the other side? Who and where could this be done?

It IS formatted for Windoze! I have other Firewire drives which are formatted for Mac and they appear fine in Media 100.
Where do I send the beer? 🙂
