So I got my new snazzy Sony HV30 camera. I’m trying to shoot some HDV 1080p30 footage. I’m trying to capture/edit it with FCP 5.1.

Don’t see it listed, do I need to upgrade to FCP 6?
    Can I get a 1080p codec for 5.1?
Will Final Cut Express 4 do HDV 1080p30?

[I wake up the next day after doing some tests]

I think I can answer my own question. My objective is to get my 1080p30 video online. (squashed down to 640×360 for youtube)

If I capture 1080p30 footage with 1080i in FCP, I’m just feeding it a single frame for both fields. When I export my video out, it sure looks progressive. I don’t see any interlacing artifacts.

    Can anyone verify my reasoning?
