Anyone know what it means when the status “light” in the media destinations box turns from green to yellow with arrows?

I’ve got an external firewire drive which mounts fine, I can digitize to it, and will play back fine, but when I restart the system, it will lose all links to that drive and won’t reconnect media. (and give me that yellow ‘light’ with the arrows.) Even though I can see it on the desktop and it opens fine in the finder. It’s only about half full.

Disclaimer: yea I’ve got fast SCSI drives which I mainly use for media, i was in a pinch and need a few lousy megs somewhere else.

I think (but I could be wrong there) that 844/X only allows storage connected to a RAID controller or FC-card in a 64bit PCI slot. Probably it simply does not believe that you really want to put video on a FireWire drive.

It means that the app thinks the volume is on a slow connection such as a network, and possibly isn’t fast enough to capture/play back video. I don’t think it would normally do that for Firewire drives. Maybe your drive is formatted as a Windows volume?

    Ah HA!

It IS formatted for Windoze! I have other Firewire drives which are formatted for Mac and they appear fine in Media 100.

Where do I send the beer? 🙂
