  • You posted “Besides that I love the Red Rock and I picked that one because of the articles I read about how little light it looses compared to the other lens adaptors out there.”
Can you send me a link to that articles or can you tell me how little light the device looses? Thank you!

April 17, 2006 at 8:44 pm in reply to: Duplicated frames when capturing

Using Capture Now and Batch Capture with the same problem.
    Not capturing bars and tone.
    Not any speed ramping.
The weird thing is that PREVIOUSLY they captured some footage under the same circumstances, same camera, same deck, same card, with no problem. If I look at the format settings of that previously captured footage it has 23.98fps instead o the 59.94fps of the footage I captured today. The only different thing is that now I’m working with FCP 5.0.4 under MacOs 10.4.6.
Going to try the FRC plug in in final cut from the Panasonic Web and let you know what goes on.
    Thanks!

Just readed my own post. I think it’s impossible to understand. Sorry!!!

    Here is a better explanation:

I’m capturing DVCPRO-HD footage with an AJA KONA LHe.
The footage has been filmed with a Panasonic Varicam in 720p-23.98fps.
I’m using the AJA KONA LH 720p DVCPRO Varicam easy setup in FCP 5.0.4.
The captured footage is not in 23.98fps but in 59.94fps, so every frame is duplicated.
Don’t know how to solve this.
    Please help!
    Thanks in advance

We’ve had the same problems. Do you have a component monitor? We solved our sync problems by running the “component out” directly from the Kona card to the monitor, and then from the monitor to the UVW-1800. We plugged the Horita into one of the reference inputs, ran a cable from the other reference inputs to one of the video inputs beneath it, and plugged the “reference in” cable to the Kona card into the other video connection.

Yes, the monitor is a component monitor. When you say “ran a cable from the other reference inputs to one of the video inputs beneath it” you mean beneath the monitor or beneath the VTR?

And Bob, I’m not using the iO anymore. It’s gone to another edit room. I’m missing it!
