    Hi,
I just installed an AJA iO in a Dual 1.75 GHz G5 with FinalCutPro 5.0, Mac Os 10.4. Everything is running fine until I choose Log and Capture. A window appears with this text: “”An error ocurred while configuring QuickTime using the current capture preset. Please quit Final Cut Pro and check your hardware configuration”. Then FCP crashes and I can do nothing…
I made some tests: I opened a quicktime video (DV) and exported it with the Uncompressed 10 bit codec, then I imported it to a Final Cut project and it worked fine. I copied a DV NTSC footage into an uncompressed project, I rendered it and it works fine too. The error occurred when I want to capture from Betacam SP.
Do I have to downgrade the MacOs or the QuickTime version? Both?
Maybe I’ll have to downgrade FCP too?
    Any ideas?

How did you do your installation of 10.4 and FCP.
Tiger needs a total clean install. That means you have to wipe one HD completely install 10.4, update 10.4, install FCP5, update FCP5, install Aja software.
The newest 10.4.2 is very reliable. When you have installed everything you have to repair HD permissions.

    Hi Rainer,

I have installed an old MacOs (10.3.7), my old FCP (4.0), and an old QuickTime (6.0). I made a capture and everithing ran fine. I made the upgrade to FCP5 and the same error occurred!!!
Don’t know what else to do…

    HELP!!!
