sorry, i’m a bit confused. let me try to explain.

I have 3 comps, each comp is time remaped, each remap has an expression like this –
    comp(“head contol”).layer(“head contols view 1”).effect(“head turn (18)(1-forward)”)(“Slider”)/23.976

and all 3 of the comps are pointing to the same slider.

so where would i put the code you’re talking about? and would I put it in all 3 comps?

I’m still seeing the decimal point in the slider bar. is there no way to remove that then?

yes, turning off multiprocessing seems to have helped. and I have the ram reserve for other apps set to 5, making ram available for AE 3. is that a good number to set it at?

    running a macbook pro
    2 core
    2.66 ghz intel i7
    8 gb ram
    256 kb cache per core
    plenty of HD space
    newest iOS
    AE CS6

doc is 1920×1080 layers of simple drawings with only a few colors.

when i cleared out the cache in the AE preferences it went a little bit faster.

and when mentioned about the layer styles, is that referring to when i import the photoshop doc, or the doc itself from within PS?

sorry, this is the first slider and expression i’ve ever made, where do i paste that exactly?
    thanks!

  • totally understand this. but sometimes 10 or 20 layers out of the 100 need to be changed after. and in that rare case is there no way to do it without manually re linking each layer that got changed?

this just does a 3d distort, its not using the classic animation technique of allowing you to swap 7 different face’s that you create. i want to have control over what those looks are instead of the program dictating it.

i drew a line and scaled them both down the exact same way in AE and photoshop and saved them at the same size and the 2 are close looking, but not exactly the same looking.

photoshop lets you determine the interpolation, as bicubic for enlargement looks the best. does AE not let you decide on this option? i am assuming this is why they do not look the same.

here are the 3 image files –

    thanks!

yes, understand this. but, why when i do a 20% scale in photoshop compared to a 20% scale in AE, AE is giving me different results. does AE not handle scale in the same way photoshop does?
