Try this,,,,,push the lens ring forward out of manual focus. Make sure on the side of the lens auto focus is NOT selected. Zoom in, focus and zoom out.
I don’t know why but it will be tack sharp opposed to the lens ring pulled back in manual focus mode.

ok…yeah, that’s what i’ve been doing. the “field symbol” is there but the numbers are not.

You’re talking about in the effects panel, scroll to “video” and drag “Timecode” to an adjustment layer or transparent layer, correct?

Yes, I did that. The only thing I can think of is maybe the latest version of XDCAM Browser and the latest version of Lion aren’t communicating properly.

well, i give up. i’ve googled and looked at other sites, i’ve cleared preference files and what not. it’s not the end of the world but i can’t believe it’s so difficult to figure out. when i double click a clip or right click the clip and select play, a window should pop up. it shouldn’t be this difficult. thanks for you help don. if i figure it out, i’ll come back here and list the steps.

great question…….i’m actually talking about the xdcam browser version 2.1. it looks like this….
as you can see, i have 2 explorer windows and no preview monitor. when i do try to play or double click a clip, nothing happens.

now no windows open. I can open a couple of explorer windows but the player window still won’t open. any other ideas? do i need to delete other preferences, etc?
i also uninstalled and reinstalled again…..that didn’t help either.

it’s an aol messenger folder.
i scrolled down further and found a support folder….in the legal folder, all those other folders say “license” and that’s all for each folder. thank you for your help. i guess i’m going to have to call adobe.
