i would like to see
keyframing as suggested above
colour wheels and controller integration
multiple scopes
customisable and recall for window layouts
metadata mapping and verbatim logger tools similar to CatDV or final cut server, while your at it a watcher type tool that automates more complex tasks would be good
audio analysis and script sync like tools
auto line up of scences, shots, takes as auditions
abstracted storyline/storyboard view like imovie has but with steriods like first cuts software
ganging
a tracker
send to motion
proper versioning and notes around that
versioning tools for deliverables, like roles but done better
audio mixer that works and connects to external controller
AVCintra MXF export for UK DPP

“I don’t think it wise to subject the nice folk on the techniques forum to the periodic rantings of Aindreas, it might prove traumatic.”
you never know you have him guest star on every forum, ranting as he does best

I think it would good to have some sort of big light system (bigger than that in the marks timeline) to say which mode you are currently in, its not so obvious when not using a davinci panel and can easily cause mistakes
-
sometimes it is difficult to tell that the panel has had modifier keys pressed, its a single press then press command button needed
if you aer having trouble with panel, try no panel in preferences resolve. restart resolve, turn artist panel back on, restart resolve again. may come good
with the rotary knobs, use them like buttons to navigate to a menu then they will change to choices needed and will work as knobs

track effect could be used with light clipping of signal throughout, probably better with luma and RGB values
for saturated sections make a corrector and save as still, then apply as grade additionally to the existing grades on suspect shots. e.g. create some grade fixes for things like bright reds isolated through saturation curves or keyers
-
it may be that a track based correction could be used in similar way to limit the whole piece

June 4, 2012 at 9:37 pm in reply to: Audio playback issues In Windows Resolve 8.2 and 8.2.1i have had similar issues
when playing back graded shots that need to get up to speed to cache there is choppy playback of sound
seems shots with no grade on them playback better
odd

June 3, 2012 at 9:23 am in reply to: roundtip from Windows Resolve back to FCP7 – codec to usesee that cineform has a free codec for gopro cameras and that seems to encode out from resolve, for the encoding in fcp 7 timeline for dissolves I found the cheapest is neoscene which should be fine for many 2d applications

May 31, 2012 at 10:39 pm in reply to: roundtip from Windows Resolve back to FCP7 – codec to useI have been outputting blackmagic 2vuy file from avid pc with rgb output values for a whil reliably to fcp7
It reads as uncompressed not none codecWill try a mac formatted drive with paragon to see if this helps eg not ntfs
We were writing to exfat drive
Haven’t properly seen the scopes out from resolve for the imported prores file as signal did realise that output at inputted levels mattered as did legal levels as working rec709
Not too sure the glue tools solution is a long term fix, how do the clients get back the fcp7 timeline with rec709 easy to use files
