Sorry to bring this back to light again, but I was wondering the same question. I read all other posts but is there a way to play video while motion sketching on a different layer? That’s all and how. I’ll go and read the manual until an answer appears, maybe I’ll receive the revelation.

if you hit spacebar after it finishes it will play with the audio…i really hate it because im use to it automatically playing as well.When im showing it to clients and ram preview and i tap the spacebar over and over because it suppose to play with sound after ram previewing.

yep the command is fn+spacebar… yo may have to hit the spacebar a second time to play it or it will load your entire comp even if you set in and out points

Yes, did you play around with the End or Start because that is how the layer grows out. Also did you set you mask up? If its in 3d do you have the camera set where it can see it?it can be tilted or what not? but it sounds like you get everything right just change the END and START.

Well, I’m a student learning AE like crazy and I’ve been playing with this effect more and more at my job and got it down packed. Well the way I do this is by making extra masks on the layer instead of one guideline(mask). So spread the masks evenly were they are touching each other and so it gets both sides of the layer. You also have to make each into separate layers because AE CS3 wont allow extra stroke effects. But just add more masks the larger the object. Have fun!
