Thanks Rafael… I tested the various setting in Compressor, still pretty blurry. Post Houses in LA will put it on digi beta tape and do a Teranex conversion for like $130… So I guess that’s what I’ll do.
How good should I expect the results to be? Is it going to be really sharp do you think… or in between the original and my compressor tests regarding quality.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, it’s 25p progressive, shot on a Canon 5d MK ii.

So shooting 24p on the 5d is actually 23.98 is it?

Actually, I don’t understand the difference between conform and convert to 23.98…

Do you mean enter 23.98 in the encoder tab of compressor…. but leave frame controls off?

I was assuming the higher I set the settings in frame controls the better… ie rate conversion to GOOD instead of FAST… but maybe I’m barking up the wrong tree.

Yeah, I was looking at that Sony..

In the end I went for the Panasonic DMP-BDT320, as mentioned…..

You know what, so far so good!

I should mentioned It’s right near my Airport Express (the WiFi source), but it steams Netflix no problems. Picture is great, no stutters.

And it’s also played all my burned discs so far… burned DVD-R and burned blu-ray BD-R haven’t been a problem.

Hi David,
You are correct, “Full” was not checked in the Render All Dropdown menu. That alone did not fix the problem, but using the render manager to delete all renders, then re-rendering, DID fix it! At least the culprit clips are fixed. If any other similar probs pop up I’ll re-post, but for now.. Thanks! You’re a legend.

I just got off the phone from the local (Australian) Matrox distributor.
Trying to summarise:
MXO (NOT mx02) takes DVI in, but that product is discontinued.

To get an SDI signal out from my computer to a proper monitor (which is what I’m gathering is appropriate for color correction), I would need:
• MXO2 LE (as opposed to the mini, which only has HDMI out, not SDI)
AND
• an expresscard slot OR a thunderbolt port. apparently it works with thunderbolt

That pretty much sounds like that’s the size of it.
