I suppose an educated guess is what I wanted.

First of all that was not helpful. While your sarcasm is appreciated, if you know anything about Apple there are always rumors and certain people who have heard when new updates like this are coming.

If this is not possible in Motion, could you recommend another application to use? After Effects?

Anyway to do correct the black point without spending $650?

Only the green screen is going to be lit with the floresent lights, the talent is going to be lit with tungsten video lights with umbrella diffusers. The only reason I am using the floresent lights is because I just don’t have the budget to buy any more studio lights at the moment. The task lights will be angles at the screen and the talent will be set several feet infront of the screen so I think I will be able to keep the 2 kinds of light separate enough. Plus my video lights have a higher wattage than the floresent lights so the talent will be lit properly.

January 7, 2008 at 2:18 pm in reply to: Best way to Achieve a Target File Size (H.264)In Final Cut I am sending my timeline to compressor (file > Export > using compressor), then in the file list I select the pull down and do a new export using QuickTime export components (applies them to that timeline), put in my settings, then go back to the summary part of the settings window and there it says “Estimated file size: unknown”

December 22, 2007 at 5:34 pm in reply to: ColorSync Question… Matching FCP colors with QT and DVDI seem to have come up with a solution. I have connected another computer monitor to my laptop, and set FCP to display the video output on that screen (acting like a broadcast monitor would). The colors on the external monitor very closely match what the colors look like when exporting to QuickTime, so I am just color correcting on there. When exporting to the QT file I am adding a ColorSync profile to match the calibrated one of the external monitor.
I think I have come up with a solution for DVDs as well, but I don’t know if it would work. OS X has a color profile built in called NTSC (1953) so I plan to set the external monitor to that profile when color correcting for DVDs and exporting to QuickTime (reference movie, non compressed) with the ColorSync profile (NTSC (1953)) for use with DVD Studio. What do you think?
–Thanks for your help
