One possible way would be to do the titles in After Effects, much easier to change attributes on multiple layers.

  • For an even simpler method, just make an adjustment layer with increased brightness or exposure, and make a feathered mask where you want it.

Light layers are useful for 3D layers but overkill for brightening a spot on your image.

Not a stupid question. My machine uses its graphics card to accelerate rendering, which allows me another option in that menu. I’m a little fuzzy on the details, but it’s basically a hardware thing I’m pretty sure. Not sure what to do in your case.

Figured out a solution. Under Project > Project Settings > General, I changed my playback from Mercury Playback GPU Acceleration to Mercury Playback software only. A dialog box popped up, and I deleted my previews. Premiere worked fine. I then switched BACK to GPU Acceleration, deleted my previews again, and it was good as new. So it fixed it, but not sure what the problem was. Maybe my previews just needed to be deleted? Either way, hope that helps.

I actually just had this exact same problem. Was working fine on Friday, I come in today and this is now happening to me.

The only thing I can think of is that I just updated Premiere.. a bug in the update perhaps?

  • Going to have to completely disagree that this is ‘good VFX.’ It’s completely chaotic– an overwhelming mash of tons of effects that don’t evoke any single emotion from me. Am I supposed to be intrigued? energized? excited? I don’t know because it looks like they went through every effect they had and just threw them on.

That being said, looks like a lot of this was used with the Video Copilot Glitch plugin.

I think Bassnectar is awesome, but this video was just a confusing jumble. Had they focused their efforts more I think I would have liked it a lot better.

It’ll work in CS5 and 5.5, though. Until they fix it in CS6, try AtomKraft: https://atomkraft.hk/aftereffects

You’re probably working in the layers tab. Make sure you’re in the ‘composition’ tab at the top of the screen.

Interesting. Saves me a couple of clicks, but doesn’t apply the font size by default, nor does it seem to keep my leading. Still, better than nothing. Thanks
